Sherwin Williams Sales Reps Paint Furniture Bank’s Workshop!

What started as a day of volunteering quickly turned into a newly painted workshop!

Once a month a group of members from the Greater Toronto Apartment Association (GTAA) volunteer at Furniture Bank as showroom guides assisting clients choose furniture for their newly established homes. This past May, 3 GTAA’ers were in for the morning to volunteer. One such volunteer was Laura, a sales rep with Sherwin Williams. During their volunteer orientation, we were discussing new initiatives happening at Furniture Bank, and the topic of our workshop came up. When Laura heard that we had a new workshop in the works, she jolted up and asked the question:

“have you bought paint for the workshop yet?”

Timing couldn’t of been better. After an inspiring day of volunteering, Laura brought her enthusiasm back to the office with her. A few days later I received the following email:
“Good morning gentlemen,It really was such a pleasure meeting you both and volunteering at Furniture Bank. I think our management team saw my enthusiasm. Sherwin Williams would love to donate paint for your workshop and supply a crew to come and paint it!
We weren’t expecting Sherwin Williams to donate paint and volunteer their time to paint our workshop. What a pleasant surprise!  Now we have a beautiful workshop reflecting our branded colours. We couldn’t of done this without the support of Laura and her team of Sales Reps from Sherwin Williams. Look what happens when companies and charities work together!

Want to learn more about the workshop?

Want to help build it bigger and better to allow us to train more youth, and divert more landfill and ultimately help more of our clients?
